hey everyone, this is a bit silly question but I'm stuck, if anyone can help me it would be great!
so on the pic, I'm moving sphere calculating distance between current grid Voronoi pieces and sphere, so if the distance
is close enough P.y would go up a bit, so to keep it up like that, I'm trying to use solver but the problem is that as the sphere stops those Voronoi pieces under the sphere still keeps going up. any ideas? there is a hip file in case if anyone would want to sacrifice their appreciated time. and also any idea how can I rotate pieces against the sphere, so it would look nice and neat. thank you!

That's not a crash, your video card ran out of memory for openCL operations. I find sometimes the interactive houdini session takes up most of the video memory leaving very little for simulations. Starting the simulation in a non-interactive (background render) session and closing the interactive Houdini session can allow the simulation to access more video memory.

It could you your simulation is simply too high resolution for the video memory pool. In that case, lower the resolution until it runs, or switch to the CPU-based OpenCL driver.

Thanks, about that CPU i already did it and i uploaded video top of the image, it shuts down Houdini right away.

Hey, I've a question to someone who already had this problem, as you can see on the picture when I press cache to disk with OpenCL checked on I get some kind of errors on that little window, and in the video when I'm using CPU it crashes Houdini instantly. Can anyone help me pls what could be a problem?

Hey everyone, i have one silly question, how do i actually assign a referenced channel to each point?

i have attached my hip file to this topic, the thing is I'm trying to have a different offset from VOP node for each point. Thank You!

Just do another solver after your attribute transfer node like this.
Thanks! That's smart

vector red = set(1, 0, 0);
if(@Cd == red)
{
@P = @P;
}

Hey, It might be very wrong, always try to provide a simple project file.
More chances to get some help and easier for the others to understand the problem.

Cheers
i tried it and it's not working, i just attached hip file under the picture

hey everyone, i have a one silly question, the thing is as you can see on the image i have created noise offset for this sphere and infected attribute for the points, so how am i suppose to stop the points from moving and make them static with VEX when they get red color? THANKS!

thanks for the answer, it is about glue and hard constraints, it says to switch from glue to hard when i@elapsed < 3; so i guess it is frame.

Hello everyone, i need advice from an expert, can you tell me which rendering soft is good for rendering nice detailed smoke or explosion? Redshift, Arnold, Octane, Renderman or Mantra? Thank you! i liked the speed of Redshift but i couldn't do any extra tweaks in it's volume shader to make material more detailed.
