Hello,
Ok I go on rendering phase this weekend so I'll have probably more info about this "bug ?" recurrence soon and tell you.
For more info I rendering a big ground map composed of 107 textures of 8192 square pixels.
I'm using karma xpu.
I also notice on other frame a similar problem where small polygons and very few (2/4 primitives) don't turn black but dark like with a normal bug.
Once rerendered they became a bit more corrupted (8/9 primitives), then I triangulated and problem is gone(I hope).
I have heavy assets (like textures) but I can share you soon for more investigation.

Hello,
Or when you change visibility of an object on top of hierarchy it doesn't show up until you select object at this same hierarchy level.
Or when you dive inside an instanced node object and back outside, instance still only with "point visibility" instead the instanced objects. need to move a parameter to force viewport update.
And do you also have this hud viewport bug and this message error when you save scene ?

Hello,
I have multiple problems to create good thumbnail with custom scene :
1) First, thumbnail just can't be generated on actual production build H20.0.625 (error message "unable to write image:" and "Failed to create file")
I check all access and all is good but that just don't work. Anyway it works on "last" daily build H20.0.649
2) I want to generate bigger image but can't go up to 256px.
If I set to 512px or 1024px, rendered thumbnail has always clamped to 256px.
3) Now the biggest problem was when trying to render thumbnail with same look as viewport rendering color (karma xpu). Color doesn't match at all.

After investigation I notice that in fact thumbnail was rendered and writed in ACEScg but there is no way to set "color correction" in the "asset layout gallery" pane like in viewport.
There is also no way to directly set a good ocio output color profile to match with viewport render.

I notice that houdini config ocio has not the "Invert ACES 1.0 SDR-video" output space, like in redshift, that allow direct conversion from ACEScg to simple flat sRGB picture (hope that's clear)

well, in the clone panel create a clone, point it to the rendersettings lop and set it to xpu. this will render into rendergallery.

Edit : Ok I see, when I render in gallery in background, you're right color are wrong. Maybye a bug.

@ronald_a, It's works on my side after explicitly set "ACEScg" on "output color space" parameter inside the "karma render settings" node (cf. you modified scene). It override ocio settings for output.
Other option was to change your ocio profile to set correct color space that match with the kind (pattern/extension) of your output file (be carreful as it's also impact input file)
Take also care about the ouput render folders name that is used if a specific ocio pattern was found.
An "other way" was to set the pattern "ACEScg" on you your ouput file name, ex: "myBeautifullPicture_ACEScg.exr" and if "ACEScg" is already set to OCIO config as a pattern, it auto convert them to this space without doing it by override parameter.
Hope that help.

Hello, to continue what @jsmack said, yes ocio rules also impact output file, but you can also explicitly set ouput color space inside the "karmarendersettings" LOP node on "AOV's rendervar" tab.

Is that normal if in project/texture path if there is a named pattern, like "//server/myBeautifulProjectACEScg/tex/myTexture.jpg", texture is altered by this ?
I tought that's only the short texture named ("myTexture.jpg") that is take into account.
It make me bugged a time before I catch this

Let me know where I made mistake and I'll correct them. At the end I only have two, sRGB and Acescg but I can made a mistake while preparing all extension/patern versions.
I don't know about metadata but it's could be a good explanation, I'm curious if that is taken into account.

Hello,
I Try to understand how to well setup OCIO and my textures workflow for H20.
I really like the new OCIO editor, very clear.
But after long hours on it I still don't always understand result.
To test pattern/extension OCIO matching I prepared 4 versions of a same srgb jpg texture and 4 version of the ACEScg exr one.
So I have 8 box by render but I don't get expected result for all.
Cf. 3 screenshots commented for the 3 render engines (Opengl, CPU, XPU).
