Instancer issue with varying point counts across frames

Hello,

I'm currently working with an instancer setup where the number of points varies throughout the shot. Initially, there are no points in the first frames, and they gradually increase as the shot progresses.

In the viewport, everything appears fine, and rendering with Husk works perfectly when I render frame by frame. However, if I add flags to render multiple frames in a single session, such as rendering every 100 frames starting from frame 1100 using the command -f 1100 -n 5 -i 100, the instances are not rendered for the entire batch. I suspect this is because there are no points at frame 1100. Interestingly, if I render only frame 1300, the instances appear as expected.

I've found a temporary workaround by placing a dummy point outside the camera's frustum, ensuring the instancer has at least one point throughout the sequence. However, I'm looking for a cleaner solution to this issue.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. Have you tried the latest daily build? This sounds like the bug which was addressed in 20.5.566 and above.

Hi, I just tried the latest production build, 584, after seeing "Fixed a bug where changing point instance count from zero to non-zero would cause Karma to fail to update" in the changelogs, which I missed earlier when checking for possible bug fixes related to this issue. Now, I get a segmentation fault, either locally on my machine or on a render node...

Can you file a bug with an example scene? Thank you!
