Can someone, please, outline the process of uninstalling Houdini on Linux?
I wanted to upgrade to latest build and just thought that it would be a good
idea to uninstall previous one. Is it?

Hey Stremik,

If you want to remove totally the previous version, you can just delete the Houdini directory.

If you think you want to keep the previous version, you can rename the Houdini directory to say, hfs6.0.272 or houdini6.0.272, then install the new version.

That's it.

Cheers!

THAT'S IT? WOW!
I knew Linux has no registry but I didn't think it would be THAT easy!

Just one more thing,

the licence server gets installed to /usr/lib/sesi and the startup script in /etc/rc.d/init.d but looking at the script, it seems to deal with an existing installation for the license server. My guess is you wouldn't need to re-install the license server, so all that is moot anyway.

Cheers.
Jonathan.
