Hi
I am trying to do a animation render with ambient occlusion, but once i get beyond frame one, mantra stops working and the node gets red stripes.
I have 2 particle systems in orbits, one with metaballs
ambient occlusion setup is done as described in the manual with the vex gi light shader and a light template.

Middle click on the Mantra node and read the error… what does it say?
Jason.
PS. Usually its an incorrect viewing camera.

That means that Mantra itself has crashed, unfortunately.
What you might need to do is to set your Mantra ROP's Properties>Statistics>Verbose Level to something like 2 and try again. You should now get a Console Window pop up and in there there might be more information.
As for problem solving: what is different about frame 1 that allows it to render? Are you rendering to ip (mplay), or to an image?
