Hi all,
Has anybody managed to get a Wacom tablet (like the current BambooFun, or any other model) work together with Houdini under Ubuntu 10.04 or Linux in general?

At the moment it doesn't show any sign of pressure sensitivity.

xf86-input-wacom-0.10.8 and linuxwacom-0.8.8-10 for the wacom.ko (needed for the newer Bamboo models) are being used.

I tried it the usual way, via udev rules and a wacom.conf – doesn't work.
I tried configuring it through xorg.conf, for the sake of losing hot plugging – doesn't work, either.

Does xorg.conf has to be somewhat special, in terms of options, etc. for the tablet to be recognized as one?

How does Houdini address graphic tablets, in general?

Some assistance would really be appreciated.

Hi,
For what it's worth, I did have Houdini 10 working with an intuos3 under linux. The Brush tools like the Paint and Sculpt SOPs make use of pressure sensitivity for size and opacity. I don't have the tablet atm, and haven't tried it with any recent builds. I do remember there being a problem with pressure sensitivity for linux builds until SESI fixed it. Maybe it broke again?
Does the tablet work properly with GIMP etc?

Well, I can't drag out guidelines with the pen. Have to use the mouse for this.
Except for this, yes, the tablet is working well with Gimp, MyPaint, Inkscape… Even with Photoshop Elements 7.0, ArtRage2, and I think CorelPainter Essentials (all bundled with the tablet) running on WINE. Not with an older version of Vue6, though.

May sound rediculous, but I could try Houdini for Windows inside WINE – 32bit only, since I can't get 64bit to work properly there.

Doesn't work anyway. Houdini with WINE exits with segfault.

Thanks for your answer, anyway.
