Hi everyone,

A newbie question here : How to create RBD objects from groups of a geometry ?
Context : I have a geometry with proper groups setup, one of which is a piece to be simulated. And I want to create RBD objects from those groups, so they can move independently and collide with each other.

Thanks in advance.

Use either the RBD Fracture Object or RBD Glue Object tool from the shelf.

It will pick up the groups for you and build the proper RBD Fracture Object DOP or RBD Glue Object DOP object for you that contains all your pieces.

You will have to do one thing though as the shelf tool will build the groups for you based on connectivity. Inside the original geometry, bypass the Assemble SOP named “create_fractured_groups” to stop the doubling up of your groups.

There's at least one school like the old school!
