Hi there,

I have a complex node system breaked up in seperate organized subnets…
now I have the problem to import more than four parents. Additionally
I need to have more than one output. How to accomplish such tasks?

futhermore I should add that I don't only look for transformations on the parent objects. So the Fetch node is useless here.

thanks,

As a more laborious way I tryed to make that linking issue work with an “operatorpath” label on the subnet. But I have problems with the expression.

Enclosed a test file!

It worked for me with this expression here:

ch(chsop(“../parm2”)+ “/length”)

thanks rafaels!!! i will try that later…

But do you know if there is a more common way to parenting many objects inside a subnet?

if you connect one of the input parameters to the input of the nodes withing the subnetwork you'll then allow those nodes to have their transform parameters to be parented to whatever you pipe into the subnetwork's input. Does it make sense? If not, try using the “Parent” tool in the Animation shelf and examine the results.

But you want anything else you'll have to use a combination of input parameters and expressions, kinda like what you did but more “general”.

Cheers

PS: If anyone knows how to reference the input of a subnetwork, I would love to hear!
