I am trying to set up my teachers laptop at school to use Houdini. She can connect fine to our license server while at school, but at home will not be able to reach it. How can we set it up so that she can use Apprentice Licensing when unable to connect to the schools server?

If you can setup VPN access to the school network she'll be able to use the license from there, but otherwise I don't think there's an automatic switch between licenses (like nuke PLE, for example).
What I did while at SESI was that I had two sets of license files that I would alternate in the license folder depending if I wanted to use Master or Apprentice… clumsy but worked, definitely something SESI can improve.

I would think you could install Apprentice (not the local licensing option or whatever it's called) to the laptop and then switch the license server from the local host to the school server when available.
