wacom/mouse annoyance

I'm experiencing this annoyane with my wacom tablet. It's not really a wacom issue, the behaviour is the same with a mouse, but when using a mouse the pointer doesn't make a lot of uncontroblable movement.

When I select a valuebox I very often lose the focus because the mousepointer moved to the second screen for example (or maybe the top edge of the display). So you think you're typing a slick expression when actually nothing happens. You than have to move the pointer so that it hovers a houdini window so that you can finish typing some value.

For me to reproduce is really simple:
  • # Select a valuebox
    # Move the cursor to the second screen (or to top edge of the screen, so that it's in resize mode)
    # Press some keys > nothing happens
    # Move the mouse so that it hovers Houdini
    # Press some keys > now its working

So basically, if the mouse is not on top of a Houdini window you cannot type anything. It also does this if the window is still active.

Is there a way to change this behaviour?

Same thing here. Happens to all of us. I kind of got used to it. Dont think we can change it in any setting.

I am not sure if its really a bug or just based on the design of how houdini handels the focus of the mouse, But you could submit a Bug or RFE for that.

OsX doesn't have this issue. Cursor on second screen is all good.

Oh yeah sorry, forgot to mention I'm on Windows.

@doudine: RFE is not a bad idea

SESI support pointed out that lots of UI bugs have been solved in some newer builds. Upgrading to the latest build indeed solves this.
