Make a curve between two points

Hi guys.
Recently, I tried to make a NURBS or Polygon curve between two points for my personal project.
I want to make a round curve shape connecting two points such as half circle.
But, I couldn't find any satisfied answer.
Do you guys have an brilliant idea?

here is example of creating arc between 2 points with option to specify upvector
