Hi Houdini community,

I am unable to open Houdini under the Free Indie Licence they are offering at SideFX.com.

I tried apprentice, houdini and indie but none are opening. Here is my licence administrator and everytime i try to launch app it asks me for a licence… http://i.imgur.com/xPYuroB.jpg [i.imgur.com]

I want to learn Houdini and maya, will I be able to use assets from houdini in maya ? This licence system is really unclear… :s

There is no “Free” Indie. The free version is called Apprentice. When you install Houdini choose Apprentice Licensing, not the other option. Then you will not be asked for a license when you launch.

So I can't import my DA from apprentice edition in maya ? I've read somewhere that there was a trick consisting of uploading to Orbolt, but I'm not sure it worth the try.
