I'm currently making my way through Steven Knipping Volume 1 fundamentals training right now.

I got to the part of caching and rendering, and I'm finding difficulty in that the cached files don't seem to read back in. I'm getting files to write out to disk, but when I create a file node and read the files back in, the volume is still simulating and if I turn the sim off nothing happens. Wondering what might cause this, or if there is a different method 16+ users should be taking to cache, render out volumes .
