Importing vector (.EPS) geo question

Some questions on what's going on when I'm importing a .EPS into Houdini if anyone is willing to edumacate me.

-When loading in the .EPS, why does it seem like half my normals are all flipped about? Is there a specific way the .EPS needs to be configured to unify the normals in one direction?

After selecting a SOP following the EPS import, I'm getting a white outline on only the dot of the “A” and the “R”. What does this outline signify?

Related to the previous question about the white outline, when selected the “R” in the viewport, I see the dot gets highlighted as well… It looks like overlapping geo, but I've checked and it is not.

Any light shed on these finer elements of importing in vector graphics into Houdini would be welcomed. Thank you.

Hi, it will differ per font but the issue is related to the curves. If there are no curve anchors in the illustrator file, it will load as polygons. If there are curve anchors, it will load as a Bezier curve. If you middle click on the file sop, you'll notice you have a mixture of Bezier and points/polys.

I've attached a screenshot and hip file but I'm sure there are other methods.

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you for pointing me to that. The dot and the “R” both have anchors while the rest do not as they sport hard edges.

T'was the missing piece of understanding for me. Thank you.
