I'm a complete beginner to Houdini, and am still rather baffled at how it works compared to other tools out there (baffled in a good way). One thing I'm trying to do at the moment is causing me a little trouble.
I'm trying to split up an imported character model from iClone Character Creator, so that I can apply individual materials to the correct areas for further work using ZBrush and Substance Painter. I've noticed that when grouping selections, if I need to add more faces to the group later on I need to either type in all the point numbers by hand, or it creates a new group node if I select faces and press enter.
I don't mind this, however it adds an extra step where I need to go into the new group, select all the point numbers from there, then copy and paste them back into the first group node, before deleting the new one. Is there a way I can automatically convert my selection to the point numbers that will allow me to simply select the faces then paste the numbers directly into the initial group node?
Apologies if this isn't as clear as it could be, as I'm still a bit lost with the whole process
Thanks.
