Was looking to create a bone rig similar to the tutorial on the buzz website(specifically the tutorial called “Houdini_i2_05_Hierarchy”). However for some reason when I try to parent a null to a bone goal it ends up flipping other bones in the chain. I have included an example from the file. I've checked “keep position when parenting” and even tried clearing the transform but to no avail. Try parenting “L_Toe” to “L_Toe_Goal” (not sure if that lingo is correct, but “L_Toe” should be the parent - at the top of the chain), everything goes crazy…. I imagine that it is some simple setting, but I have been playing with it for the last several hours with no luck.

Any help is appreciated.

It works for me. Make sure that from the main menu, Settings > Objects > Keep Position When Parenting is set to Always first. Alternatively, you can set it to Object flag and turn on Keep Position When Parenting on the L_Toe_Goal object's parameter.
