Hello i have a question relating to the smoke sims in Houdini, i would like to be able to control the smoke to make it form a point that the smoke will be attracted to and swirl around it. Sorry if i'm a bit vague, it for a project i'm working on my first Houdini project.
It involves a crystal ball that has smoke coming out of, the smoke at first is normal then it starts to swirl around a point above the ball. With Eventually turns into a rain cloud, that rains back down onto the ball. I have made a cloud and i have started to work out how to make the rain, but i cannot find anything on the smoke aspect of it. If you know anything or have any suggestions or advice i would appreciate it.

One thing I'll suggest is to consider where smoke comes from in Houdini. It needs to be sourced (from the component type of your choice, be it surfaces or points. If you can make particles follow the path that you want your smoke to travel, then you can source smoke from those points, and you are nearly there. At that point, you just need to control the dissipation and shaping parameters, to get something aesthetically pleasing.
