I'm currently trying to create smoke inside a sphere container. The smoke simulation is running fine, but once I add the Static Object Nodes to the collider object the simulation freezes. To me, it looks like the container OR the collider is a solid object, which isn't allowing the smoke to expand into the scene.
I've attached my houdini file. Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I going about this the right way?
I need to do a little more experimentation to resolve your issue completely, but I can tell you what's wrong. Right now, the collision representation of your sphere is a solid object. Since the smoke is already colliding as it gets sourced, that is why it doesn't move. You need to invert the sign of your collision geometry until the negative space at the center is the shape of the sphere, and the smoke sim will now be able to move inside of it and collide at the walls. There are a few methods for inverting the sign of the collision geometry, but that will take a lil more research before I can give you a concrete answer on what to use. That is what you need to search for though.
