Hi,

I just switched to Houdini Indie and I installed Redshift. My problem is that Redshift still thinks I have the apprentice version of Houdini so it's not rendering to disk or Mplay and giving this error “The scene can't be rendered due to the Houdini Apprentice license restrictions”. I have a license for Redshift so it's not the demo version. Anyone have knows how to fix this?

I made a quick tutorial on how to properly install Redshift with Houdini, this is from an OS X installation but the principles are the same.

Also, I thought I'd add…are you trying to open Apprentice files with Indie? If you are, Indie automatically reverts back to Apprentice when you do.

That message is not related to Redshift. If you uninstall Redshift, you will still receive that message until the Houdini License issue is resolved.

To get it resolved quickly, I would contact SideFX support - there can be multiple causes for this licensing issue.

Thanks for the Tutorial it's very clear but I've already done these steps and the Redshift plugin works fine inside Houdini and Renders in IPR but not to disk or Mplay so I think it's as Daryl mentioned it's a Houdini license thing.

And your are right about opening older files from apprentice but I tried starting a new scene even an empty one just to see if the error is still there and it is. I'll check with Sidefx guys about the license.
