Hi,

Trying to help a friend. He wants to shrink his particles as they die, can someone look at this simple file I tried to make to make the particles expand relative to $LIFE? For some reason it doesn't work….?

Thanks.

Your hip file works just fine. Remember $LIFE goes from 0 to 1. (CurrentAge/LifeExpectancy). The “problem” is that your life expectancy is 1000 seconds so the particles grow very very slowly. Either multiply $LIFE by some scaling factor or reduce your life expectancy.

Thats confusing as on the spreadsheet from the copy SOP it says $LIFE is going past one? Also can you tell me why there are 2 $LIFE attributes shown in the spreadsheet?

The two “life” attributes are the current age and the second is the life expectancy. The first divided by the second gives you $LIFE.

Or in POP speak, $LIFE == $AGE/$LIFESPAN

So in the spreadsheet life is essentially $AGE and life is $LIFESPAN?

Correct.
