Hi there,

I am really struggling with hair and fur and my deadline is coming closer.

I created fur on a rectangular grid. The fur looks super awesome and as I whished. Then I did a guide simulation (vellum) to move the fur in subtle turbulenced wind. After the guide sim, I did a hair generate and inside of that I applied some fractal clumping and some frizz.

When I now render the animated fur, some areas are going crazy. Like some hairs are flickering, moving way too fast, disappear and appear suddenly, and so on.

Why is that? What am I doing wrong? Also my hairs look kind of edgy, even though I set the segments in the guide generate on 40…

It would be amazing if you could help. I’ve never been so desperate on a project. Thank you.

In case you’re using Redshift; did you activate hair tessellation in the render settings ? I’m not behind my computer right now, so I can’t check what it’s called actually. But it smoothes the hair strands, makes a huge difference.
