Hi, my current workflow consists of creating dynamics in Houdini then exporting to Cinema 4D where I texture and render. Is there a good way I can separate objects after a solver where I can export them separately to texture them individually in Cinema 4D?

You can use path attribute to specify which object in alembic hierarchy each primitive will end up (using Build Hierarchy From Attribute optiin)
Then when you open that alembic in C4D it will come in as hierarchy of objects

You can also just pack individual pieces before exporting and they will be automatically split into separate objects even though naming will not be as nice but can have advantage of preserving transforms and instancing for example

After a few hours of digging, I was able to find a solution to my problem. If anybody else is struggling this link helped me export alembic separately. https://ddankhaziportfolio.wordpress.com/2019/07/04/houdini-to-maya-export-an-alembic-file/ [ddankhaziportfolio.wordpress.com]
