can I or how do I edit an HDA parameter?

I created an HDA, I need to edit one of them to add a range, even after allowing editing of HDA that parameter range is grayed out so am unable to select it. is it possible to edit it so I can select range?

you are probably doing Edit Parameter Interface, which is just for editing spare parameters on the node instance

to edit UI of HDA definition and other stuff you can do either
RMB (on the node)/Type Properties..
or
select node and choose Assets/Edit Asset Properties.../your asset

This worked thank you! I was confusing myself between Edit Parameter and Type Properties!
