Hello
This is my first post I hope it's not out of place. I have been reading a lot here as I have been learning houdini in my free time for a couple of months. Great community, hopefully there will be someone to help me with this!
I am trying to install my ocio config without much success!
I dl the config from here ; https://github.com/imageworks/OpenColorIO-Configs [github.com]
Took the ocio.config out of the latest version (1.0.3), placed it locally (C/Users/.../houdini18.0/OCIO)
I edited (and saved!) my houdini.env (added ; OCIO = "C/Users/.../houdini18.0/OCIO/config.ocio")
When I launch Houdini I have a list of errors returned (invalid colorprofiles).
Now I am new to Houdini so admittedly there might be some user's mistake somewhere!
Using Houdini 18.0.499 and my scene uses Arnold.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to help me!
PS ; also tried to load from edit / color settings / color correction without success.
install OCIO.config

The docs mention you're not supposed to set OCIO from within houdini.env. You'll want to configure your system environment to do this instead.
You can either set the variable globally (control panel > system > advanced > environment variables), or if you value a little more flexibility, you can write a quick batch script that sets the OCIO variable and then launches Houdini from that same shell process. The advantage of doing it this way is that you can more easily choose whether or not you want to be using OCIO for individual jobs. Here's what my

Did you download the LUTs as well? It sounds like it can't find definitions for the color spaces included in the config.
Anyway, give the attached config a try. I created it based on ACES 1.2 for my own convenience. I'm not a color expert, so no guarantees! But I've been using it for a few weeks and it's working well. It basically cuts out all the nonsense that comes with OCIO by default, leaving only the essentials for CG.
Just extract to your folder of choice and point Houdini to it (either via .env or system-wide) and you should be all set.
