Color ramp as base color for my shader in OCTANE / Houdini

I want to apply a vertical gradient to a donut.

To make this realistic, I need a bunch of colors in a ramp. Bottom dark ... middle bright ... Top dark again, and at least 4 colors in between.

I tried a wave texture, but that one only has 2 colors.
And it looks way too unnatural.

The gradient nodes were even worse for the task, I my opinion (but please correct me if I missed sth. there!).

I am using Octane, so everything done in SOPs is not working for me.

Is there any option with Houdini & Octane to use a color ramp as a base color for my shader and map it with one of the transform 3D nodes until it fits?

Or did I miss a ramp option in the base color field?

Thanks everyone!
