The simulation was created in Houdini 20.5, using the MPM solver to achieve that heavy, flowing behavior. I also developed custom velocity fields to art-direct the motion and drive the points in a more controlled, cinematic way.
One thing I really enjoyed working with is the range of MPM attributes—they’re incredibly useful during look development and give a lot of flexibility when shaping the final result.
