This is a personal project focus on particle disintegration effect. All aspects in Houdini. Nine Between's Houlyday challenge "Earth" inspired me a lot to get the idea. Learned some useful techniques from Flooz(Florian Bard). His disintegration effect tutorial helped me achieve the effect.
The gem and the rock is procedural modeling. I do a pyro simulation to drive the partives. and focus on the shading of the rocks use mantra. Do a little composite in Nuke. The whole process in Houdini is challenging but very interesting.
