Hi everyone, I have an issue with Houdini indie. When I select a camera it often resets its transform to (0,0,0) . And I can't even undo to make it go back the old position. What's the deal with that ? is it a bug, or is there something I don't get ?

I noticed it happens only when view is in “show handles” mode.
This “thing” has already cost me an annoying amount of time. I really would like to know what is happening

Can you detail the exact steps you take as it doesn't happen normally.

I can't seem to able to reproduce this behavior right now … I will try to post whenever it comes back.

I can confirm it happened to me in one scene. Could not reproduce it so easy so my conclusion was that is something specific for that scene.

Sounds similar to the behaviour when you have keys set on the camera, then move the camera, then move the current frame indicator, when you don't have auto key set - therefore it resets to the key.

Any News on this issue? Has anyone logged this as a bug?
I used to work on Linux where I dont remember much having that issue.

Now after going to windows this seems to happen every scene i touch.

I am not able to do simple camera animation since it gets deleted all the time.

I think I finally narrowed something down !
It seems to happended only when the handle of the camera is in mode “aligned to object” .
I use the shortcut very often : “M” key

Can anyone confirm that ?

hmm nope I made a mistake, It just happened when handle in “aligned to world” mode …

grrr it's getting VERY annoying. I can't think of any workaround that nasty little bug.

A ticket have been added
“Side Effects Support Ticket: #29530”

At least they'll look into that.
In the mean time I thought of a workaround … simply parent the camera node to a null, and animate the null. I tried it in a hip file with the bug, and the camera just resets to 0,0,0 as usual , but it doesn't matter anymore 8)
I hope it does the trick

We are also experiencing the same issue.
Hope this can be fixed soon…our animators are about to kill someone.

Just seen it too. It's a few possible things:

Happens when you are in a geo node and select the camera

Happens when you have ‘hide others’

Happens when the z-rotation of the camera has a -e15 in the value.
