I am still a newbie to Karma/Solaris - so at the moment I'm still just trying to use the new Karma ROP with a standard obj/sops workflow and using Mantra principled materials.

When I try to render importing TGA images as textures, CPU Karma and Mantra work fine, but XPU Karma flashes an error: 'Color model not-supported'. I've not been able to find any documentation on this, any suggestion as to what exactly about TGA images might be triggering this?

While many formats might work with Karma, it's wise to convert them to mip-mapped EXR (or RAT) format images: https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini19.5/ref/utils/imaketx.html [www.sidefx.com]

As for color space, perhaps you could post the results of iinfohere?

Thanks! Converting my textures into EXRs has been my workaround in the meantime, so sounds like I'm on the right path

Looking at iinfo I get this result:

Resolution: 4096 x 4096
Data: 8 bit integer
Color Model: BGR
Channel Depth: 8 x 3 (24 bpp)

It'll be the BGR ordering (as opposed to RGB)
Could you file a bug report please? And perhaps attach a problematic texture to the ticket?
thanks!

Hello, I converted my targa's to PNG? Is it better to convert them to EXR? What tool do you use for conversion? Photoshop?
