Character week begins with the APEX Scene Animate SOP. This will be very new for many people. Don't worry - this node can be used with existing rigs that come with Houdini or are in the Content Library.

This lesson uses the Electra rig which comes with Houdini. You can also use other characters found in the Content Library [www.sidefx.com].

Thanks early contributors for giving me the courage to tackle this entry. I had no clue about this Apex thing and initially though I would have to rig my own character... but then I realized everyone was posing Electra.
So here is my entry, and yes, this is a real pose (I use to shoot these for the swiss poledance championships when I was a photographer) and yes I have posed every finger. I even add fingerprints on the pole bar (if you know anything about this sport you will understand why)
Plus I gave Electra a bit of subsurface scattering and shine to make her robot skin a touch more human
Everything rendered in Karma which I am starting to enjoy!

DAY 18 - Apex Animate
My first try at the Apex animation system & COP2 network!
When someone says "pose" instead of animation pose my mind goes to yoga pose
So here we are:
Today Electra is rocking the tree pose, Vrikshasana, in her morning yoga session.
