Hello all

I’m Manuel, from Factum Arte, a Madrid-based studio working at the intersection of art, technology, digital fabrication, and material production, collaborating with artists, architects, and cultural institutions on projects that often require the development of bespoke technical and creative processes.
We are currently working on a new approximately 5,000 m² carpet for project under NDA, and we are looking for someone with strong experience in procedural growth systems, computational geometry and either Rhino/Grasshopper or Houdini.
The overall design already has a large-scale “macro” structure based on a fluid simulation: a field of waves moving through the architecture. We are now developing the meso scale, using vectorized native flora to generate botanical compositions that respond to this underlying flow.
What we need is more sophisticated than scattering flowers along curves. We want to explore a system in which botanical structures can grow, branch, curve and potentially develop recursively/fractally, while responding to the wave field and to neighboring structures. A key challenge is making the compositions fit together intelligently without unwanted overlaps while preserving controlled negative space and a coherent overall rhythm.
We already have the architectural plan, the wave field and a growing library of clean vectorised botanical assets. The main questions are how best to build the procedural growth/packing system, how the flora assets should be prepared for it, and how to keep the system manageable and continuous across such a large surface while ultimately retaining clean vector geometry.
We are working on a very short timeframe, so we are looking for someone who could consult with us and potentially help develop/prototype the system immediately.
