Hi guys,
Just wanted to know how to access other indices wired into say for example a VopSop.
For instance if I wanted to wire in a second object into input 2, how would I access its global P using a Global Variables Vop? I couldn't find much documentaion on it, unless I missed something obvious altogether.
thanks

Houdini renders double sided by default, you turn it off by toggling on “Backface Removal” in the Render->Geometry tab of your object. You may have something else going on, post a hip file…

hi Erik
The hip above is just a torus with an Iso Offset set to Fog Volume. And that's what it looks like. In fact all volumes end up looking like that or similar
I think it might have something to with my xorg.conf coz renders look just fine, just wondering if anyone has had similar problems
thanks

Hey guys, Sorry to hijack this thread but does H 9.1 run on Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy)x64, Given gcc 4.2? It happens to be the only distro that runs on my laptop right out of the box without issues.
Thanks
Thanks

If all the above things check out OK try setting your LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable to $HFS/dsolib exclusively just for your houdini session. Seemed to fix a similar problem we had on Suse 64. hope this helps…

It should work without problems, just make sure your gcc version is the same, and you have python installed and configured properly…

right click the node you want to export and chose “Save Data channels” to save out a .chan file. To export to other objects use the export chop

create a null and leave it at world origin, Use an Object CHOP set to get Position and Rotation, Grab your camera as the target and the null as reference. That should give you world space t? and r?

I'm getting these weird pink spots on some random frames of my image sequence, I remember reading a similar post a while back on the same issue. Can't seem to find it now.
Anyway I hope someone can explain to me what might be causing these. Note, I have no displacements in the scene.

speaking of which, Is there a collada for maya on Linux binary floating around somewhere?, or has anyone here managed to compile it succesfully(x86_64). We'll be buying our first few hfs licences next month or so and collada has us piqued (even if we can use it in a small way) so does anyone have any success stories to share
