Can we expect a VS 2013 build soon? It has an energy consumption tool (:

VS 2012 support is great news though.

Wondering this too?
I know that there is a speed difference in how you access attributes between Linux and Windows. Graham reported that he gets with one method 3 times speedup than with method I used on Windows, but it was the oposite for me on Windows . I suppose it was because of how each compiler handles things.
VC9 is quite old and doesn't support many new things. I would prefer to get 2013 just to get better support for more of new things in C++ but I understand if they prefer to use 2012, it's supported by many more things on the market. For example, NVidia CUDA NSight package just barely got support for 2012. SESI doesn't use it but I suppose there are many other libraries that are better supported by 2012.

SkybarThe vc11 Houdini build has whole program optimization on, which may make it faster. Loop vectorization is turned on too, but it didn't seem to vectorize many loops; only a few no-brainers, and some that it did vectorize, it didn't do a great job of vectorizing.mantragoraWondering this too? Are there any differences other than for people compiling stuff?
PS. Is there speed difference between H build compiled in vc9 vs vc11?
VS2013 was finally released recently, but it'll take some work to get a build going.
Writing code for fun and profit since... 2005? Wow, I'm getting old.

That's also what I assumed in terms of vc11 build being more optimized, but wasn't sure what's optimized and how much, etc.
