I have always sketched a lot, it’s how I collect ideas, develop concepts, and refine my style. Often, I find inspiration flipping through my sketchbooks. Feeling the urge to bring some of the sketches to life and explore the possibilities of translating them into renderings, I have handpicked a selection to create this series.

For the second piece of this series I took an old sketch which I've become fond of. I used the drawing as a background and started to model the parts on top of it. To be able to translate the texture of the pencil strokes into the rendering I created materials which are imitating hatching patterns. I tried out different tonalities and ended up really liking the dark look.

For this project I used Houdini, Redshift and After Effects, to underline the moody and mysterious feel I created some music.
