How to properly disable filters in Houdini to render pix-elated renders just like in Maya for 8 bit colors? Nov. 4, 2017, 3:17 a.m.
tamteThank you very much tamte!
make sure your filtering on your Texture VOPs is set to No Filter as well to avoid any kind of interpolation

How to properly disable filters in Houdini to render pix-elated renders just like in Maya for 8 bit colors? Nov. 3, 2017, 3:05 p.m.
Hello people of SideFX,
How do I get a render that looks exactly like 8 bit color renders?
I had a image plane 1 x 1 and used Phong in Maya to able to import the texture.
We can change the filter setting in the texture settings to NONE so it will automatically turned into 8 bit.
So right after that I exported out the scene into FBX and imported into the Houdini.
But in Houdini, I had changed the Pixel filter in the Mantra to “Object with most coverage (no filtering)” and changed the Sample Filter to “Closest Surface”. It doesn't turn out like 8 bit colors but it is still blurred.
I tried exporting out passes with Pz, Cf, BaseColor, DiffuseColor and changes all filters to exactly the same as the Mantra (Object with most coverage (no filtering) & (Closest Surface). It still look the same as the blurry version. I even tried to give resolution to the image plane and it is still looks blurry.
How do I get a 8 bit render just like in Maya?
Thank You,
Conan

Maya 2016 Grouped Mesh export to Houdini 16 as FBX issue Sept. 4, 2017, 1:35 a.m.
Hello people of SideFX,
There's issue after exported the Grouped Mesh FBX from Maya 2016. Right after I import the FBX into the Houdini 2016, I realized Houdini duplicated some other geometry pieces into another group. May I know what is the cause of it?
Thank you,
Conan
