Assign a new Hotkey...go to Edit > Hotkeys under Context expand Houdini then expand Panes then click on Textport. Under Action click on Open Editor, then to the far right click on the green circle with a plus and on the keyboard below click on Cmd and E, which are mistakenly by default unassigned.
