Crowd Sim Transition to Ragdoll Problem July 13, 2016, 6:53 a.m.
I'm trying to get a crowd to run off a cliff in Houdini 15.5.522. I've set up a crowd trigger (Object bounds, SOP) that links to a box near the cliff edge, and a crowd transition node (input = run, output=ragdoll).
I've tried altering the RBD Ragdoll parameter in the run and ragdoll crowd nodes with different combinations, but the crowd just fall off in a ‘frozen’ state rather than becoming ragdolls.
Houdini hurts my mind but I can't stop learning it! Any help would be appreciated.

Möbius strip crowd sim June 28, 2016, 5:07 a.m.
Thanks for the quick reply. Having a look at the latest build now. Aligning to terrain normals sounds like what I need.
Möbius strip crowd sim June 27, 2016, 2:12 p.m.
Hi all
I'm trying to make a crowd sim on a Möbius strip, where the characters walk around the strip in a loop.
So far I've modelled the strip and set up the crowd sim by:
-adding a mocap biped and baking with walk animation
-using the populate node to attach the crowd to the Möbius strip.
-added a simulate and terrain node
At this stage the agents detach from the Möbius strip continue heading off in the specified direction.
Any ideas on how to keep the actors attached to the geometry?
Here's a reference of someone who has nailed it a few years back with ants. I'm trying to do the same but with the standard mocap biped actors:

Any help or insight would be appreciated!
thanks
