Nice work indeed. Do you have an example of how you use a texture map? I'm also working with hair & fur for the moment and was wondering how exactely to apply such a texture map to add color to specific places.

Hey folks,

I'm working with the hair & fur tools in Houdini 16.5 at the moment and was wondering if there's a kind of reference map of settings one could use to start simulating hair movement. I know it's a lot of trial and error but with all the different parameters to work with, having some kind of guideline would be helpfull to start with.
Especially on how to control longer hair with quick movements (an ox running).

Mostly the hairs tend to go crazy in situations like that and I'v seen an older tutorial (H15.5) where one would use a timewarp node in order to slow down the movement and after the simulation, use another timewarp to bring the animation back to a normal speed. Is there another way of doing this (controlling the hairs) or some settings I could use for those kind of simulations (rapid movement)?
