Twice the number of expected points generated by POP Dec. 6, 2015, 11:41 a.m.

Hi!

I'm one of those former XSI hobbyists moving to the world of Houdini. So I did set up myself with an exercise that involves a set of points in a grid, which have a set of attributes that involves in time (that's the sim part) and that are used as stamped parameters to drive some simple geometry.

Now to do that, I first setup a grid, set some preliminary attributes on those, then feed that in the POP node. I have those in a POP node so that now I can have a simulation so that each node evolves based on the value of its neighbors using an Inline VEX code.

So more or less I got that going, but I see that out of the POP I get twice the number of points. Since I am stamp copy based on those points, I'd like to avoid that. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

(Or if I am approaching this totally the wrong way  ).

See the attached annotated screen capture.

Thanks!

Claude
