Slow Motion Muzzle Flash with Pyro April 10, 2018, 6:14 a.m.

Hello, I'm working a on a project that's inspired by the film Dredd. In one sequence in the film there is a slow motion muzzle flash that I'm emulating using the PyroFx explosion shelf tool as a starting point.

I have a draft composite including my simulation.

I'm trying to emulate the fire ring and the turbulent look of the flash in this clip from the Movie

Two issues - I don't know how to approach making the the fire ring, would this be best approached as separate simulation and how is best to make the fire form in this shape?

How do I stop the explosion from looking too clustered, its not ‘firey’ enough in my opinion is more like a cloud I want to make it look more turbulent.

Thanks for your help.

Hello, thanks for the reply. Thats the tutorial I followed im sure theres no mention about a shader or anything just more on the wind setup which for didn't effect the simulation anyway for some reason.

What would a good learning resource for all the detail on the shader side of things and even from the basics upwards.

I don't understand what you mean by shader, are you basically talking about a texture but not using a image file something thats generated by the program.
