Houdini uses 100% of CPU when cooking.. April 18, 2020, 11:24 a.m.
Hello,
I think I am running into a similar issue as this thread. I am wondering if there is a remedy for it, or if it there is something wrong with the way I run Houdini.
I am trying out the UV tools in Houdini and don't seem to have problem with my CPU when I use the Labs Auto UV node.
The problem comes right after when it tries to cook uvlayout (even though I have visibility set at the Labs Auto UV node).
Once it tries to run uvlayout, the %CPU on my Activity Monitor jumps up to 700+.
Once it finished packing,%CPU drop, but then rise back to 700+ again and hang Houdini.
I am running Houdini via the Houdini Terminal like this:
houdini -j16
My spec:
Houdini Apprentice 18.0.416
macOS Catalina (version 10.15.4)
Processor 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Memory 16GB 1600MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2GB & Intel Iris Pro 1536MB
Thank-you in advance for any tips the community can offer!
Cheers
