Lots of problems with 9.5 on 10.5 OSX Aug. 3, 2008, 8:26 a.m.
searching the web, it seems to be related to the Nvidia driver, not really Houdini.
Lots of problems with 9.5 on 10.5 OSX July 30, 2008, 6:22 p.m.
i've dl the 182 build and found about the same problem when clicking on the render view tab to get the viewport, here is the message from the console :
