Thanks for prompt reply Marc. This is working better now, just like you have described. I don't know what was going on but it was unusable. I wish I knew what happened because I didn't do anything in particular (excluding system updates and system restart).

I am absolute beginner with Houdini and this is hopefully trivial question. After starting Houdini (out of the box settings and default project) I am trying to add a plane and sphere. When adding these primitives it takes about 40 seconds. In status line I can see it is doing lots of commands (evaluating Python, running Hscripts…). I would expect this part to be fast and simple. This is not about rendering, just adding objects to scene.

I am running Apprentice version 15.5.673 on laptop with 32GB RAM, GForce 8800M with 6 GB video memory, plenty of disk space.
