Welcome to Galaxy Particles, a new Houdini course focused on teaching you how to create complex-looking animations entirely procedurally, without using any simulation. The goal is to show you how to achieve simulation-like results purely at the geometry level.
Even though the final animation looks like a particle simulation, it’s not. The entire effect is built using just two layers. The first layer is a radial noise pattern that drives the main swirling motion.
The second layer moves points along a predefined path, resetting their position once they reach the center. This creates a continuous, seamless loop. These techniques are simple but powerful, and can be applied across a wide range of everyday motion graphics and VFX projects.
If you're looking to deepen your procedural skills in Houdini and learn efficient techniques for creating FX without simulation overhead, this course is a great place to start.
