Learn how to make a game-ready knife in Houdini, including how to use powerful boolean operators in creative ways so you can make changes at any point in the process. Small parts of the knife are not fully modeled but the video gives you a good idea how you can finish it further. By practice you will learn more!

This is a beginner friendly tutorial for modeling in Houdini, but some base knowledge will be useful. This workflow is also known as a boolean workflow, most shapes are created by boolean operations. This can be a very fast way of working with hard-surface models.

 Total time spend to get the final result was about an hour and a half - around 30 min for making the knife, and an hour on texturing with Substance Painter.

    Hello, I tried this tutorial last night. I had an issue when adding the boolean node for the notches. I only have one input to plug in the geometries.

      You can merge/combine results with merge node, look at 3:30 in the video.

      You can just press "P" in the network view to get the parameters up.

    Is this polyreduced workflow also work with baked lighting or just dynamiac?
