The 3D viewport now has display options for adding uniform fog effects. You can visualize this fog using OpenGL with controls for density, opacity, height and depth range. You can also add a distant light to act as the sun and control how the sunlight interacts with the fog. This fog can be rendered to disk with the OpenGL ROP.

    Cool...but that's like a teaser no? How can that be brought into SOPs, which in turn be applied to a render? or just brought into render directly as set/seen in viewport? Especially into LOPs?

    Could use a tutorial on how to export a fog-only AOV. For instance say that I am using RenderMan for my main passes, but I want to have an OpenGL fog-only pass for my animated scene....how would I go about doing that?
