Houdini 20.0 Nodes Geometry nodes

Feather Width geometry node

Sets the curve widths of feather shaft and barbs.

NOTE: Barb width attributes don’t have any effect on barbs in the viewport. You need to use the Feather Uncondense or the Houdini Feather Procedural operator to see the effect of these attributes.

Parameters

Create Shaft Width

Set or create a width attribute, defining the width of the shaft along its length. When no barb width attribute exists, this is used for both the shaft and barbs.

Shaft Width

The width of the shaft. This lets you use ramp controls & attribute overrides to control width along the shaft of the feather.

Create Barb Width

Set/Create a pair of barb width attributes (width_barbl and width_barbr), each with an element for each barb point.

When these attributes don’t exist, the regular shaft width (`width) attribute is use as the barb width.

Barb Width

The width of barbs. This lets you use ramp controls & attribute overrides to control width along the length of each barb.

Skin UV Attribute

The name of the skin UV attribute. This is used when overriding parameters with textures or texture primitives.

Feather UV Attribute

The name of the feather UV attribute set (usually uv, uv_barbl, uv_barbr). This is used when overriding parameters with textures or texture primitives and UV mode on parameters is set to Curve UV (Sample texture only at the shaft’s uv) or Feather UV (Sample texture at each barb point).
