Is this what you're after?

Just moved the render flag to the preview node thingy

The Display flag is blue, the render flag is purple, set on each node, Try selecting the node and pressing ‘1’ or ‘2’

Please read
http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini13.0/nodes/sop/ [sidefx.com]

It really helps to go through the interface basics before creating an ocean in cgi.

FWIW. SideFX's next tutorial should be “Using The Manual”

Edit: changed instructions

Some testing; the tutorial works in the commercially licensed HoudiniFx, though, there appears to be an issue for the non-commercial license as the texture is generated for pic instead of picnc

Fixed scene attached, tested on HoudiniFx 13.0.321 os OsX

Hope that helps

Hey Marty
Many thanks for your support last night - can't say how much that has helped…often these hiccups get in way of actually getting on with stuff….so I can now proceed to the next hiccup.

Thanks again, you have been of genuine help.
Regards
Rob.
