i am facing this issue while installing houdini
some of my shelf button doesn't have icons and when i go inside they don't even have a script in it completely empty,
and then there are some button which have icons and scripts inside are not working at all they are throwing this error

i have tried everythong deleting all the houdini preferences and unistalling and reinstalling ,
different versions too , but nothing seems to fix the issue

Maybe there's a conflict with Python 3, even though it's not set as the default. Perhaps your environmental variables haven't been initialized properly.

Some systems require that you run the ‘source houdini_setup’ setup command before launching Houdini. The command ‘hconfig -a’ lists all your current environmental variables, and might provide a hint if anything is missing.

Make sure you have all the latest Windows service packs and security updates installed as well.

About Icons problem ,sometimes that's because files permissions and sometimes it can solve after deleting Icons cache files :

delete Icons folder in the “C:\Users\<YOUR_NAME>\Documents\houdini13.0\config”.

i have all the latest updates for windows installed
and @Joker386 its not just icon , if i right click and go in edit tool and check the script there is no script in there ….completely blank, i.e. that feature is not getting installed at all.
but anyway i have tried deleting that folder too (many times) and reinstalling the houdini but no success so far.

Any chance that some sort of antivirus program still stopping the installation?

I tried switching off the antiviruses and reinstalling Houdini
but still same issue

I don't think it's clear what the issue is. Do you have a screenshot of how your interface looks like and what you're doing to get the error?

@edward i'll try to describe the issue again
whenever i am installing (clean installation) any build of Houdini 13
the shelf tools some of the shelf tools are not getting installed (same tools eveytime )


Its not just the icon when i right click on any of these tools (without icon) and go in edit tool>edit script there is nothing completely blank.

And in the pyro tab the shelf tools seems to get install properly (i can see icon and script inside them) but i am this error with them (which might be because of some other reason )
when i select any geom and click shelf flames tool (or somkeless flames or pyro cluster) i am getting following error

also just now i got another support mail from side fx, they suggested me to try installing houdini 12.5.
And i did that and this time all the shelf tools seems to install fine (icon and script inside that)
But i am still getting that pyro error.
Now that 12.5 shelfs are getting installed properly can anybody suggest me how to get those shelf tool working in houdini 13 and also any solution for pyro shelf tools not working.

i hope this time i described it properly ..still any questions reply back

Perhaps you have some 12.5 environment variables set that is affecting your H13 installation? Also try renaming your $HOME/houdini13.0 directory so that it gets regenerated from scratch.
