Hello,
I'm trying to follow Rohan Dalvi's particle tutorial using latest Houdini Apprentice, but having trouble with Motion Blur. (https://vimeo.com/95644892) [vimeo.com]
Rohan showed 3 things to check before getting Motion Blur rendered.
- sphere_object1, Sampling, Geometry Velocity Blur, ON
- Inside sphere_object1 there is trail1 to Compute Velocity
- ropnet1, mantra1, Sampling Allow Motion Blur, ON
I believe with those settings, I should get render result with Motion Blur, but no.
Here is my file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7h5pp8cqnunfh2w/particle_test.hipnc [dropbox.com]
I would appreciate if anyone has time to check it, Thank you!

Oh , Sorry , I didn't see last reply !!!
Another thing is you don't need to use Trail SOP , because particle system generate Velocity vector automatically !
Just render your project with bypassing Trail SOP .
However we have another Motion Blur except Velocity Blur , Just you should open “Edit Parameter Interface” window for sphere_object1 , Then in the “For Rendering” page add Blur parameters to this node .(Use Filter to find them!)
Now you can see these new parameters in the Render->Sampling page for sphere_object1.
In the last step don't forget to set “Geo Time Samples” in the Mantra parameters to bigger number than 2.
Now you should have Motion blur again

Hey JuhaT
I faced the same problem. And i figure out that possibly you are doing the same mistake what i was doing.
While rendering please make sure you are using the /obj/ropnet1/mantra1
may be your using the default mantra node.
I hope it will help.
Thanks
Thank you Prashant Arora! You were right about this issue. Rendering /obj/ropnet1/mantra1 did the job and I got my motion blur.
Thank you
